Option 1

"I think I'll go with Option 1," I said.
"There is no Option 1," the voice replied. "You have Options 2 through 8 to choose from."
"No Option 1?"
"No Option 1."
"But Option 1 looks like the best option."
"There is no Option 1."
"But that's the one I'm choosing."
"You can't choose Option 1. It what's you get if you don't choose."
"Well, I won't choose then, and you can just give me Option 1"
"That would be the same as choosing Option 1.
"No, I'm just choosing not to choose."
"Option 1 is for people who don't know they have a choice."
"Just say I don't know then."
"If you didn't know you wouldn't be here."
"I choose not to choose."
"Choosing not to make a choice is still making a choice, and if you make a choice you have to choose between Options 2 through 8."
"Option 1," I insisted.
"Option 1 is not an option," the voice replied.
